Boys lacrosse: Yorktown star bound for Albany

It was a groundbreaking season for the University at Albany men’s lacrosse team this past spring. The Great Danes won a school-record 15 games, rose to as high as No. 2 during the regular season in the Division I rankings and beat eventual national champion Johns Hopkins and national semifinalist Delaware during the regular season. And Scott Marr, a 1987 Yorktown graduate, was named Division I coach of the year.
Yorktown senior midfielder Rocky Bonitatibus was among those who noticed all this. His oral commitment to accept a scholarship offer from Albany makes him the first ‘Husker to commit to a D-I program in two years.
