Boys basketball: Memorable day at Peekskill

On a day in which the court at Peekskill High School was named in his honor, 25th-year Peekskill coach Lou Panzanaro guided the Red Devils to a 53-37 win over St. AnthonyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s (6-4).

Mookie Jones led Peekskill (10-0) with 19 points, six rebounds and seven blocks. Junior Darien Thomas chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Red Devils suffered injuries to two of their starters. Senior captain Elliot Wastson went down with a left ankle injury and sophomore point guard Daquan Brickhouse sustained a right ankle injury.

From the first opening minute, you could tell that the Friars were overmatched both in talent, depth and athleticism.
