Here’s a recap of the Division I and Division II tournaments.
Tuckahoe eliminated defending Class C champion Hamilton, 67-42 in a Section 1 Class C first-round game.
Hey, I was at one of tonight’s Class C quarterfinal games – No. 6 Keio vs. No. 3 Tuckahoe. It was a 50-23 Tigers victory.
The Tigers face defending Section 1 champions No. 2 Blind Brook next week at the County Center in the semifinals.
No. 3 Pearl River held on at home to defeat No. 11 Pelham, 37-31 in a Class A quarterfinal. The Pirates will now move on to face No. 2 Port Chester at the County Center. Here are my thoughts from this game:

Joe Lombardi had 24 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and three blocks as Briarcliff beat Lincoln Hall in a Class B sectional quarterfinal.
No. 6 Pearl River defeated No. 3 Tappan Zee 71-44 in the Class A quarterfinals at Tappan Zee High School. The Pirates will face Spring Valley next week at the County Center in the Class A semifinals

Today I was at the Section 1 boys swimming and diving championships at Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack. Suffern defeated Horace Greeley 274-244 to repeat as sectional champs. Here are my thoughts from the meet:
For a second straight year, Fordham Prep captured the CHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The Rams capped their undefeated season by edging Chaminade 787-762.5 to win the team title. Here are my thoughts from the meet at the Nassau County Aquatic Center:

Today, Division I (large school) held its four divisional tournaments with the top four finishers in each weight class qualifying for sectionals next Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight I was at Horace Greeley’s 48-36 victory over Brewster.
Tonight I was at the Section 1 Diving Championship at Pace University. There, five divers qualified for the state championships, led by Arlington’s Kyle Molloy and Suffern’s Nick Garcia-Morales, last year’s winner. Here are my thoughts from the meet:
Tappan Zee won their second consecutive Section 1 team championship 178.600-175.200 over Clarkstown. Mahopac’s Kylie Shields defended her all-around title and won the floor exercise and vault crowns. Clarkstown’s Diona Straub and Yorktown’s Danielle Bonner tied for the uneven bar title while the Dutchies Candace Young won the balance beam title. Tonight also decided the team that will represent Section 1 at next month’s state championships.
Tonight capped off the Divisional championships at Lakeview Elementary School. Last night Clarkstown won the Division I championship for the first time since 2006. Tappan Zee made it three straight Division II championships. Both teams will face each other at Carmel High School Thursday for the Section 1 championship.
