Baseball: Mahopac’s pitching beat Mount Vernon’s hitting

Boys lacrosse: Yorktown, John Jay get big wins

Yorktown downed the No. 9-ranked team in the nation Chaminade 10-6 today and John Jay handled Somers 15-5 in a meeting of the teams that met last year in the Class B sectional final.

Girls basketball: A celebration in Briarcliff

Today I was at the parade in Briarcliff for the girls basketball team. The Bears won both the state and federation championships in Class B, becoming the first Westchester girls basketball team to win a federation title since Ursuline in 1994. Here are my thoughts from the festivities:
